Builders Alliance was founded in 1913 to serve the growing needs of professional builders and customer home builders in Washington with lumber, doors, windows, and millwork, and other home renovation products and materials.
Christensen Lumber was founded in Fremont, Nebraska in 1923 as a small family-owned and operated business serving the region’s home builders and contractors with lumber products.
Zarsky Lumber Company began in 1928 with two farmers named Frank and Charlie Zarsky in Woodsboro, Texas by selling lumber off the back of their pickup truck at a local café.
Gulf & Basco originated under the name “Gulf Plumbing Supply” established in 1937, a family-owned plumbing supply business in Houston, Texas. It later merged with “Builders Appliance & Supply Co (BASCO)” and has since been known as “Gulf & Basco Company.”
Arizona Wholesale Supply Co., now Arizona Appliance and Home, was founded in Phoenix, Arizona in 1944 as a wholesale distributor of appliances and electronics.
R&D Thiel started in the suburbs of Chicago and has continued to expand under the name Carpenter Contractors of America, Inc. (CCA) into the booming markets of Florida (1973) and North Carolina (2000).
