Tim Ferguson serves as the President of Christensen Lumber, where he oversees all company operations. He began his career at Christensen in 1994 after graduating from Morningside College in Iowa with degrees in marketing and advertising. As the son of a carpenter and longtime customer of Christensen, Tim learned carpentry skills early on and started at the lumberyard and sales counter. His journey at Christensen progressed from sales and back counter roles to outside sales, where he excelled until his promotion to Sales Manager in 2007.

During his tenure as Sales Manager, Tim played a pivotal role in transitioning Christensen to focus exclusively on the professional builders, moving away from retail operations and solidifying the custom builder as the cornerstone of the company’s business model. Since assuming the role of President in 2023, Tim has continued to drive Christensen’s commitment to serving the needs of builders in the community.

Throughout his 29 years at Christensen, Tim has actively participated in local builders’ associations and served on various boards, including those of his church and Habitat for Humanity. When not engaged in industry or community service, Tim enjoys spending time with his wife, Shelli, and their two sons, Ethan and Wes. He has dedicated many evenings and weekends to coaching their football, basketball, and track teams, and remains involved with the local track team as an official during home meets, recently receiving the Sampson award for lifetime achievement.
