Tim Ferguson is the President of Christensen Lumber.

As President of Christensen, Tim is responsible for overseeing all operations of the company. Throughout his career, Tim has held numerous positions of increasing responsibility at Christensen and was promoted to President in 2023.

Tim started his career at Christensen in 1994 after graduating from Morningside College in Iowa with degrees in marketing and advertising. As the son of a carpenter and longtime Christensen customer, Tim learned carpentry skills at an early age and was a prime candidate for Christensen’s opening in the lumberyard and sales counter. After working at the sales counter for a year, Tim moved to the back counter and was later promoted to outside sales, where he remained until 2007 when he was promoted again to Sales Manager.

During Ferguson’s time at Christensen as Sales Manager, he was instrumental in making the transition to solely focus on the professional builder and move away from the retail portion of the company’s business. To this day, the custom builder is the core of Christensen’s business model.

In his 29 years at Christensen, Tim has been a part of the local builders’ associations and has been on many different boards, most notably his church board and Habitat for Humanity. When he is not serving the industry and his community, Tim enjoys spending time with his wife Shelli, and two sons, Ethan and Wes. During their younger days, Tim spent nights and weekends coaching their various football, basketball, and track teams. He still works with the local track team as an official at home meets and recently was awarded the Sampson award for lifetime achievement for the track team.
