Kodiak Acquires Jenkins Building Supply of Alpine, Wyoming
Dave Jenkins, president of Jenkins Lumber and Hardware, and Kodiak Building Partners announced today the acquisition of Jenkins Lumber and Hardware by Kodiak, as of October 1, 2019.
Jenkins Lumber is a single location pro-dealer located in Alpine, WY that sells a broad array of lumber and building materials. Dave Jenkins will remain the president of Jenkins Lumber and has chosen to be a part of the ownership group of Kodiak Building Partners, as many sellers have done.
Jenkins Lumber was founded in 1975 by Dave’s father, Richard Jenkins. Like many leaders in our industry, Dave grew up in the business and worked side by side with both of his parents. During his lifetime, he has enjoyed being a part of a business that so successfully established itself as a primary supplier to builders, DIYers, and remodelers in an area of Western Wyoming Star Valley and Jackson Area.
Being a part of something bigger was a huge draw for Dave, who stated that, “I look forward to having additional peers to lean on and bounce ideas off of from time to time. We at Jenkins have been successful on our own but fully expect to flourish even further under the Kodiak umbrella.”
Kodiak’s CEO, Steve Swinney, is pleased to expand Kodiak’s geographic footprint into Wyoming with a deep-rooted and respected lumberyard that expertly serves its region. “Jenkins Lumber and Hardware will be a valued addition to our family. Dave and his team are known for their dependability and always fulfilling promises to their customers. Their culture is a perfect fit with the way that we do business, and we look forward to supporting all that they do. Further, we think the Wyoming markets that Jenkins serves will continue to remain strong to quite strong for a long time.”
Larry Morgan of Mountain States Acquisitions LLC was the exclusive advisor to Jenkins Lumber.
