Partnering with local communities to make a lasting impact.
Community Values
The Kodiak vision is “creating a culture that empowers local leaders to succeed in the communities they serve” ― we believe part of our success is rooted in giving back to and supporting both our local and global communities in need through the Kodiak Building Partners Foundation. A business that serves its community is not simply just doing the right thing, but it is a trusted friend and partner to local communities, which has been Kodiak’s goal from the start.
While continuing to work on our businesses and profitability, Kodiak and our family of businesses intentionally go out into our local communities and perform good works. We actively serve by conducting five events a year including partnerships with Habitat for Humanity, Veterans Community Project, Giving Tuesday, Toys for Tots, Daddy Bruce Randolph Thanksgiving Feed a Family, and other organizations that we feel are positively impacting our communities. Kodiak is passionate about encouraging our staff and local operating companies to make a positive difference within their community.
“To do more for the world than the world does for you, that is success.”
– Henry Ford
Service Above Self

Veterans Community Project is an organization founded by a group of combat veterans in Kansas City, MO and Longmont, CO whose mission is to resolve to stand in the gaps of a broken system that left too many of their brothers and sisters behind. Their solution to provide critical support services to veterans is two-fold:
- The Veteran Outreach Center: VCP’s walk-in Outreach Center serves as a one-stop resource for all veterans, no matter what type of problem they are experiencing. VCP offers free assistance with helping veterans navigate the VA and their benefits, identification services, mental and physical health referrals, financial counseling, employment supports, and additional services.
- VCP Village: Built by veterans for veterans, VCP Village is a specialized community of tiny homes combined with wrap-around, onsite services to get homeless Veterans off the street and transition them to permanent housing. In contrast to traditional homeless services, a tiny home provides the Veteran with privacy, a sense of security, and the ability to reintegrate at a comfortable pace. Veteran services are facilitated through an onsite community center that provides the Veterans with mentoring, case management, counseling, and linkage to other programs and services.
Kodiak strongly believes VCP is having positive, lifechanging impact on the lives of our nation’s veterans and their families. Our company stands with our veterans and greatly appreciates the sacrifices they have made for our country.
Along with our local Colorado operating units; Barton Supply, Direct Lumber & Door of Colorado, Jones Heartz, and Specialty Appliance, we are proud to be part of the new Veterans community being built in Longmont, CO.

Daddy Bruce Randolph Thanksgiving Feed a Family is an annual event in Denver, CO in honor of Daddy Bruce Randolph that provides more than 5,500 Thanksgiving dinner gift boxes to families in need. Nicknamed “Daddy Bruce”, Bruce Randolph was the local restaurateur who provided holiday feasts for Denver’s needy for more than 25 years before his death. His legacy left a mark on the community and now this event serves meals to over 35,000 people during the holiday season. Kodiak believes that this Thanksgiving event positively impacts the lives and culture of our community and those who get the opportunity to serve them.

Kodiak has partnered with Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver for the last four years. This organization builds and sells homes to hardworking people in need of affordable housing. Kodiak team members volunteer their time to help build homes for others in our local community. It is also a great team building activity that all of our Colorado operating units can be involved in.

Serving Local Communities
Kodiak encourages all of its operating units to give back to their local communities. We are proud of their commitment to giving back.
