Ed serves as President of Sun Mountain Custom Doors.

As Sun Mountain’s President, Ed oversees all company operations including sales, marketing, manufacturing, distribution, finance, IT, and human resources.

The secret to Sun Mountain’s success is its employees—we have loyal, high-integrity, hardworking people in every part of the organization.

Ed completed a bachelor’s degree in Business Management, with a focus on Finance, from Brigham Young University in 1989. Ed began his career in progressive financial leadership positions over seven years of service with Baxter Healthcare—a Fortune 100 global manufacturer of medical devices. He then joined Liberty Safe, a PE-owned manufacturer of gun safes, as VP of Finance/CFO. He assisted Liberty Safe in the doubling of company sales in three years, and a successful sale for the PE owners. He was retained by new ownership and was promoted to Senior VP of Sales and Marketing, and also served as a board member with the firm. Ed then joined National Vinyl Products, a vinyl fencing manufacturer as CFO/GM, where he executed a successful start-up of the company’s PVC extrusion manufacturing operation.

In early 2006, Ed joined Sun Mountain Custom Doors as CFO. He assisted the company in substantial capacity expansion early in his tenure with Sun Mountain and then helped the company successfully navigate the economic/housing downturn of 2008-2012. Ed was promoted to General Manager of the firm in 2013. He helped the company achieve revenue growth in nine of the next ten years, through the expansion of the company’s direct distribution model, nationwide marketing, and development of the company’s organization in all functional areas.

Earlier in his life, Ed served for 18 months as a full-time missionary for his church in Los Angeles, CA where he taught and served Asian immigrants from Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam. During college, he served in the Big Brothers organization. He has served in a variety of lay positions with his church, interacting with community leaders and providing service.

Ed and his wife Shelly are the parents of four children, with two grandchildren. Ed loves baseball (born in the Midwest, and is an avid Saint Louis Cardinals fan), and time with family.

Through Sun Mountain, Ed is a member of several local HBA and ASID chapters. He has developed and taught continuing education courses on doors for Interior Designers through the IDCEC.
